First Annual YEF Golf Tournament was a huge hit!
The York Education Foundation Golf Tournament at York Golf and Tennis Club was a rousing success. More than one hundred golfers participated in the 18 hole scramble on a perfect, warm September day. While some groups scored better than others, everyone had a terrific time. The golfers were fed a hot-off-the-grill lunch complete with sides.
The tournament awarded prizes to the top three foursomes. Bill Greenier, Paul Sevigny, Dan McPhail and Tom Gorham finished in first place with a score of 58.
The post-golf reception was lively, with 150 people in attendance at the Old Clubhouse. Guests sampled hot and cold passed hors d’oeuvres , a charcuterie and cheese board, fruit and crudités.
Don Matthews was the winner of the 50/50 raffle, taking home $500.
The Silent auction featured more than forty items including local gift cards, handmade items, a BBQ grill, dinners, golf outings, whitewater rafting trip, surfboard, and Patriots tickets.
Overall, the event raised more than $30,000 for next year’s grants!!!
