YORK EDUCATION FOUNDATION GRANTS FOR THE 2005 – 2006 SCHOOL YEAR

The York Education Foundation funded six grants for the 2005-2006 school year, with two at York Middle School, two at Coastal Ridge Elementary School, one at Village Elementary School,  and one for York Adult Education.

Leland Faulkner: CRES/VES World of Wonder, Terry Smith, Title One Ed. Tech, VES:

A theatrical performance and teacher workshop by Leland Faulkner provides students with ongoing inspiration for imaginative shadow theater drawing on Japanese art forms and folk tales.

Wellness Group, Eileen Brault / P.E. , CRES:

A class set of pedometers provide students with a tool to support increased fitness in a comprehensive program.

Technology Cart, Michael Harris, CRES:

A mobile unit with a laptop and LCD projector provides students with flexible access to online resources during their school day.

Un Voyage a Quebec, Stephanie Carbonneau, YMS:

Description: Scholarship funds and scrapbook materials provide students with an authentic experience extending classroom learning.

Enriching Economics, Andy Geranis, YMS:

Incentive items provide students with rewards in a simulated economics activity.

Families Together/Family Literacy, Beth Knight, Coordinator, York Adult Education & VES partnership:

Story bags, activates and parent guides provide York families the means to participate in a school readiness program through Adult Education.
